📢 Savitribai Phule Pune University Ph.D Admission Notification 2025 – Apply Online

Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), one of India’s premier educational institutions, has released the Ph.D Admission Notification 2025 (Circular No. 230/2025). The University invites online applications for Ph.D admissions from eligible candidates who have either qualified PET (Ph.D. Entrance Test) or are exempted from it.

📌 Admission Process

Candidates will be admitted to the Ph.D program through the following process:

Interview/Viva-Voce – All eligible candidates must appear for an interview/viva-voce of 100 marks.
Weightage for Selection:
- PET Score: 70%
- Interview/Viva-Voce: 30%
Candidates exempted from PET will be selected only based on interview/viva-voce (100 marks).

🎓 Eligibility for Ph.D Admission

Candidates must have completed:

a) Master’s Degree:

A 1-year/2-semester Master’s program after a 4-year/8-semester Bachelor’s degree OR
A 2-year/4-semester Master’s program after a 3-year Bachelor’s degree
Minimum 55% marks (or equivalent grade).
Relaxation of 5% for SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy layer)/SEBC/EWS/Differently-abled as per UGC rules.

📌 Under NEP 2020, candidates with a 4-year bachelor’s degree must have at least 75% marks to apply.

b) M.Phil. Candidates:

Completed with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade).

c) Professional Qualifications:

Candidates with M.D./M.S. (Medical Science equivalent) are eligible under Science & Technology faculty.
Candidates with CA/CS/ICWA will be treated as post-graduate qualifications under Commerce & Management.
