Purnea University, Purnia (Bihar) has released an official notification (Advertisement No. PUP-GT-001/2025) inviting applications for the temporary engagement of Guest Faculty in various subjects. Eligible candidates can apply online through the official website www.purneau.ac.in from 21st August 2025 to 31st August 2025.

A total of 168 posts are available across multiple subjects. Some key subject-wise vacancies include:

- Chemistry – 16
- Mathematics – 15
- English – 17
- Psychology – 20
- Political Science – 14
- History – 9
- Sociology – 13
- Hindi – 12
- Commerce – 6
- Botany & Zoology – 8 each
- Other Subjects – Geography, Urdu, Home Science, Music, Ancient Indian History
(Vacancies may increase or decrease as per university requirements.)
Eligibility Criteria
- Educational Qualification:
- Master’s Degree in the concerned/relevant subject with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/BC/PwD).
- Candidates must have cleared UGC NET/CSIR NET/SLET/SET, or possess a Ph.D. as per UGC norms.
- Age Limit: Minimum 23 years and maximum 55 years (as of 31.07.2025).
Salary / Honorarium
- Selected guest faculty will be paid ₹1500 per class, subject to a maximum of ₹50,000 per month.
Selection Process
- Academic Records – 100 marks
- Interview – 15 marks
Candidates will be shortlisted based on qualifications, research publications, and teaching experience.
