Jadavpur University, Kolkata, has officially opened applications for admission to its PhD programme under the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, Law & Management (FISLM) for the July–December 2025 session. Eligibility Criteria
- Candidates must hold a 2-year Master’s degree (MA/MSc/ME/MTech/MPharm or equivalent) with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade).
- Those completing a 4-year Bachelor’s degree must have a minimum of 75% marks.
- Applicants with shorter Master’s programmes must ensure a total of at least 5 years of higher education.
- For certain schools, NET/GATE/SET qualification is mandatory.
Application Process
- Application forms are available online at the Jadavpur University website.
- Applicants may apply to more than one school/department by paying an application fee of ₹500 per programme via SBI Collect.
- Forms, along with required documents, must be submitted between 2nd September and 22nd September 2025 either in person or by post to the Office of the Dean & Secretary, FISLM, Jadavpur University.
Selection Procedure
- Selection will be through a Written Entrance Test (WRET) and Interview/Viva Voce.
- Candidates qualifying national-level exams like UGC-NET, CSIR-NET, GATE, GPAT, CEED, DST-INSPIRE, VISVESVARAYA etc. will be exempted from WRET.
- Final merit list will be prepared with 70% weightage for test scores (national exam/WRET) and 30% for interview performance.
