University of North Bengal Recruitment 2025: Walk-in Interview for RA/SRF & JRF Posts
The University of North Bengal (NBU) has announced a walk-in interview for the appointment of one Research Associate (RA)/Senior Research Fellow (SRF) and one Junior Research Fellow (JRF) under a Research Project funded by the State Authority of Wetlands, Government of West Bengal. This recruitment will be conducted in the Department of Botany, University of North Bengal.
The interview is scheduled to be held on 24th September 2025 at 11:30 AM in the chamber of the Head of the Department (HoD), Botany, NBU.
Vacancy Details
1. Research Associate (RA) / Senior Research Fellow (SRF)
- Number of Posts: 01
- Fellowship: ₹30,000/- per month (Consolidated, with project-related contingency; No HRA)
- Eligibility Criteria:
- M.Sc. in Botany/Zoology with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade).
- Ph.D. in Botany/Zoology with specialization in taxonomy/biodiversity. Candidates who have submitted their Ph.D. thesis but are awaiting award are also eligible.
- NET/SET qualifications will be considered an added advantage.
- 2–3 years of research experience in field surveys, plant identification, plant collection & preservation, biodiversity documentation, etc.
- At least two peer-reviewed publications in the relevant field.
- Upper Age Limit: 35 years.
2. Junior Research Fellow (JRF)
- Number of Posts: 01
- Fellowship: ₹28,000/- per month (Consolidated, with project-related contingency; No HRA)
- Eligibility Criteria:
- M.Sc. in Botany/Zoology with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade).
- Field survey experience in natural landscapes.
- Upper Age Limit: 28 years (Relaxation applicable for SC/ST/OBC/PH candidates).
Important Information for Candidates
- No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
- These positions are purely temporary and on a contract basis.
- The project may be terminated at any time by the funding agency.
- Fellowship payment is subject to the availability of funds.
- Interested candidates must appear before the interview board with their academic certificates and research-oriented documents.
