VBSPU Recruitment 2025: Apply for Junior Research Assistant (JRA) in Earth & Planetary Sciences

Veer Bahadur Singh Purvanchal University (VBSPU), Jaunpur, has announced an opportunity for research aspirants in the field of Earth and Planetary Sciences. Applications are invited for the position of Junior Research Assistant (JRA) under a UPCST-funded project titled:

“Depositional Environment and Provenance of the Gomati River based on Facies Association and Sediment Dispersal Patterns.”

The project will be carried out in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences, at Prof. Rajendra Singh (Rajju Bhaiya) Institute of Physical Sciences for Study and Research, VBSPU. The fellowship is funded by the Council of Science and Technology, Uttar Pradesh (CSTUP).

Eligibility Criteria

Essential Qualification:

• Postgraduate degree in Geology / Applied Geology or allied disciplines.
• Minimum 60% marks or 6.0 CGPA from a recognized university.
• Only Indian citizens domiciled in Uttar Pradesh are eligible.

Desirable Qualification:

• Preference will be given to candidates with experience in sedimentology.

Age Limit:

• 28 years as on 1st April 2025 (Relaxation as per CSTUP/Govt. norms).

Fellowship and Duration

• ₹25,000 per month (First 2 years)
• ₹28,000 per month (Third year)
• Duration: Maximum 3 years or till the completion of the project.
