Gauhati University has released Advertisement No. T/2025/2 inviting applications from eligible candidates for various faculty positions under the 4-Year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) — B.A. B.Ed. and B.Sc. B.Ed. at the Department of Education.
All posts will be contractual in nature as per the NCTE regulation (F. No. NCTE-Reg. 1011/80/2018 dated 22nd October 2021).

Educational Qualifications

For Head of Department (HOD):

• Postgraduate Degree in Science/Mathematics/Social Sciences/Commerce/Languages.
• M.Ed. with minimum 55% marks.
• Ph.D. in Education.
• 10 years (Professor) / 8 years (Associate Professor) experience in teacher education institution.
• Desirable: Diploma/Degree in Educational Administration or Leadership.

For Assistant Professor (Liberal Discipline and Pedagogy):

• Postgraduate Degree in relevant subject with 55% marks.
• B.Ed. with 55% marks.
• NET/SET or Ph.D. as per UGC norms.
• Desirable: M.Ed. / M.Ed. with specialization / Ph.D. in Education.

For Assistant Professor (Educational Studies):

• M.Ed. with 55% marks.
• NET/SET or Ph.D. in Education or equivalent qualification per UGC norms.

For Career Guidance and Counselling (Part-Time):

• Master’s Degree in Psychology/Philosophy/Sociology or allied subjects.
• Diploma/Degree in Career Guidance and Counselling.

For Health & Physical Education (Part-Time):

• M.P.Ed. with 55% marks or equivalent grade.

For Arts Education (Part-Time):

• Postgraduate Degree in Performing or Visual Arts with 55% marks.

Selection Process

• Only shortlisted candidates will be called for interview (via email).
• Shortlisting will be done by the Screening Committee.
• No TA/DA will be provided for attending the interview.
