Jharkhand Eligibility Test (JET) 2025 – Notification, Eligibility, Exam Pattern & Syllabus

The Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) has released the official notification for the Jharkhand Eligibility Test (JET) 2025, also known as the Jharkhand State Eligibility Test (JSET). This examination determines the eligibility of candidates for the post of Assistant Professor in government and aided colleges across Jharkhand.

📢 Important Dates

  • Notification Release: 9 September 2025
  • Online Application Start Date: 16 September 2025
  • Last Date to Apply Online: 6 October 2025
  • Last Date for Fee Payment: 7 October 2025
  • Correction Window: 8–10 October 2025

📝 Eligibility Criteria

  • Educational Qualification: Master’s degree or equivalent from a recognised university.
  • Minimum Marks:
    • General/EWS: 55% aggregate
    • BC-I/BC-II/SC/ST/PwBD (Jharkhand): 50% aggregate
  • Age Limit: Minimum 21 years. No upper age limit.
  • Re-eligibility: Candidates already qualified in JET for the same subject cannot re-apply in that subject.

The JET consists of two papers conducted on the same day:

Paper II is subject-specific as per the candidate’s postgraduate specialization. JET 2025 offers over 40 subjects such as Economics, Political Science, Sociology, History, Commerce, Law, Computer Science, Environmental Science, etc.

💻 Application Process

  1. Visit the official JPSC website.
  2. Register as a new user and fill in the online application form.
  3. Upload required documents (photo, signature, certificates).
  4. Pay the application fee:
    • General: ₹575
    • BC-I/BC-II/EWS: ₹300
    • SC/ST/PwBD/Third Gender: ₹150
  5. Submit and take a printout of the confirmation page.

Qualifying JET is mandatory for appointment as an Assistant Professor in Jharkhand’s government colleges. The certificate is now valid for a lifetime, making it a critical step for those aiming for an academic career or Ph.D. admission in the state.
