LGBRIMH GURET 2025: Apply Online for Ph.D & M.Phil Admission at Gauhati University
The Lokopriya Gopinath Bordoloi Regional Institute of Mental Health (LGBRIMH), Tezpur, under Gauhati University, has officially announced the GURET 2025 (GU Research Eligibility Test) for admission to Ph.D and M.Phil. programmes for the academic session 2025–26.

Programmes & Eligibility Criteria
1. Ph.D in Clinical Psychology – 9 Seats
Eligibility: Two-year Master’s degree in Applied Psychology / Clinical Psychology / Counselling Psychology / Psychological Counselling with at least 55% marks, plus M.Phil. in Clinical Psychology.
2. Ph.D in Psychiatric Social Work – 6 Seats
Eligibility: Master’s degree in Social Work with at least 55% marks, plus M.Phil. in Psychiatric Social Work.
3. Ph.D in Psychiatric Nursing – 2 Seats
Eligibility: M.Sc. in Psychiatric Nursing with at least 60% marks from UGC/INC recognized institutions.
4. M.Phil in Clinical Psychology
Eligibility: Master’s degree in Psychology / Counselling Psychology / Clinical Psychology / Applied Psychology / Psychological Counselling with at least 55% marks.
5. M.Phil in Psychiatric Social Work
Eligibility: Master’s degree in Social Work with at least 55% marks.
Admission Process
The admission will follow a three-stage process:
- Central Application Process (CAP)
- GURET 2025 Entrance Test – 100 MCQs, 1 mark for each correct answer, 0.25 negative marking for wrong answers.
- Counselling – Final merit based on 70% GURET score and 30% counselling performance.

- Exam Date: 24 August 2025 (2 hours)
- Merit List Publication: 27 August 2025

Reservation Policy
Seats will be reserved for OBC, SC, ST, PWD, and EWS categories as per Government of India norms for LGBRIMH, Tezpur.
