Nagaon University, a public state university in Assam (formerly Nowgong College Autonomous), has announced the Nagaon University Research Eligibility Test (NURET) 2026-27 for admission into its Ph.D programmes for the academic session 2026-27.

📘 Eligibility Criteria

• Candidates must have a Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in the concerned subject.
• For reserved categories, relaxation in marks will be as per UGC Regulations, 2022 and Government of Assam norms.
• Applicants who have qualified UGC-NET/UGC-CSIR NET/GATE are exempted from NURET and will be directly eligible for the personal interview after applying online.

🧾 NURET 2026 Examination Details

Scheme of Examination

The NURET will carry 100 marks, divided into two parts as per UGC Regulations, 2022:

Part-I: Research Methodology

• Marks: 50
• Questions: 50 (MCQs)
• Duration: 1.5 hours

Part-II: Subject Specific (UGC-NET/CSIR NET syllabus)

• Marks: 50
• Questions: 50 (MCQs)
• Duration: 1.5 hours

🟢 Note: There will be no negative marking in the test.
