National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) has released an official notification dated 23 September 2025 inviting applications from Indian nationals for engagement as Law Research Associates (LRA) on a contractual basis across all its benches. Key Details of NCLT Law Research Associate Recruitment 2025

  • Post Name: Law Research Associate (LRA)
  • Type of Engagement: Purely contractual, initially for one year (extendable up to 3 years based on performance).
  • Monthly Remuneration:
    • ₹60,000 per month for all benches except New Delhi
    • ₹80,000 per month for the New Delhi Bench
      (No DA/HRA/residential accommodation or other allowances are admissible)

Essential Eligibility Criteria

  • Graduate in Law (including integrated degree course under 10+2+3+3 or 10+2+5 pattern) with at least 50% marks from a recognized institution eligible for Bar Council of India enrollment.
  • Law Degree/LLM obtained not earlier than two years from the date of advertisement.
  • Final-year law students (5th year of five-year course / 3rd year of three-year course) may also apply subject to proof of qualification before joining.
  • Maximum age: 30 years as on 22.10.2025.
  • Candidates must have research, analytical and writing skills; knowledge of eSCR, Manupatra, SCC Online, LexisNexis, Westlaw, MS Office; and sound knowledge of Company Law and the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC).

Selection Process

  • Written Examination followed by Interview.
  • Questions will cover the Companies Act, 2013, Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code, 2016, allied laws, and general knowledge.
  • Research skills on Company Law and Corporate Insolvency Law will also be tested.
  • Shortlisting may be done based on qualifications and experience if applications are large in number.
  • No TA/DA for appearing in the interview.

Duties and Responsibilities of LRA

The selected Law Research Associates will assist Hon’ble President/Members in:

  • Reading and preparing case files, summaries, and notes.
  • Conducting legal research and preparing reports.
  • Assisting in judgment preparation, verifying citations, maintaining case files.
  • Attending court proceedings and taking notes.
  • Preparing research papers, speeches, and assisting in conferences.

Key Points to Note

  • Engagement may be discontinued by giving two weeks’ notice if services are unsatisfactory.
